Vindheim Premier Arts & Sciences Competition
Words from Maitresse Marguerite Dinard
June 2, 2025
I would like to give out a huge thank you to all those that helped me this weekend make the Premier A & S Championship happen. This will be a long list.
First to the lead team for VMA II. That would be Their Excellencies Isabella Coppola, Emma O'Ruairc, and Eadwyn seo Gathyrde for allowing me to tag onto an already full schedule. I also have to had His Excellency Isaac Bane for all his assistance with everything, from helping with ideas, judging sheets and support.
A big thank you to his Highness, Prince Uriangqadai Cinoajin. He allowed me to move forward with my wish to hold this competition. Without his encouragement, this would never had happened.
Another person who lent their support but is shy about accepting that thank from the beginning is Mistress Adria Lorelle. Thank you for helping me with setup, judging and being a cheerleader.
Others that have been there for me is Countess Deanna della Penna for the scroll work that all the artisans received for participating in the first Principality A & S to support for doing this thing. She also assisted with setup, paperwork and judging. Others that have supported me were Mistress Sabine Lefevre de Armagnac. She, too, took on the duties of administrational paperwork and judging.
That beautiful scroll done for the Champion was done by HL Stigandr Houlegate. It was beautiful. The amazing medallion was made by Master Donnchadh Beag mac Griogair and the beautiful chain by Sir William Cameron deBlakstan. Thank you to all of you for all your help in the pass-down items for our Champion.
As with any competition, you have to have someone judge the entries. Dominique Michelle le Vasseur, Beatrix Funteyn, Beorhlic Folcwineson, Nafisa al-Nadiyah, Deanna della Penna, Cera ingen Fháeláin, Ian the Green, Emma de Fetherstanand Her Majesty Margherita de Mantua. Then there is the Irish of Merits that helped judge: Adria Lorelle and Koia Karasova. I know there was more so please accept my apologies for missing you, no malice intended.
Last but not least were the artisans that made all this possible. Vitalis Gabrielle Venier della Mare (who won the competition), Vincenti da Murano , Vaduny cel Tradat, Cera ingen Fhaelain, Aesa Mikjalsdottir, Malkyn Hawke, Martino Giovanni Arciere, Ebergardis von Zell, Åsa InBlinda, Ranulph de St.Clair, Áshildr Inn Hárfagri, Alexandra Lunette Arundel, Donnchadh Beag mac Griogair, John of York, Abe no Saburou Sadasuke, and Zubeydah Al-Badawiyyah .
Thank you all, for your help in making this happen and being such a wonderful experience.

There were many people that helped make the Vindheim Missile Academy II possible. I wanted to start out saying I appreciate everyone that contributed in any way big or small. It is much appreciated and your help made this event a success.
We had an amazing core team… Emma, Isabella, Orlaith and just like we have done through this entire process we have divided and conquered. So I’m not going to try to name everyone that helped, but I am going to highlight some awesome people.
First, Orlaith thank you for wrangling the marshal side of things and getting people and equipment lined up. Thank you Wiesenfeuer, Namron, Northkeep for letting us pull out most of your archery and thrown weapons equipment so we could have one of the largest displays of missile activities in the Kingdom.
Next, thank you to Emma and Isabella for being my co-event stewards in this ambitious project. Thank you for all your help and keeping me sane through this process of stewarding my first event.
Marguerite Tonda Pratt thank you for organizing teachers for the classes and for running the Premium Vindheim Arts and Science championship. Also, thank you for being supportive and giving me encouragement throughout this process.
A big shout out to [Caitlín inghean Taidhgin]]; she headed the DEIB and populace support for this event. She made sure there were signs for parking, people were taken care of, and personally checked in on me several times to make sure I was doing okay.
Liadan of Patrin-Or, thank you again for heading up the Youth and Family activities. Everyone always has such an amazing time and I love seeing the youth and families such an important part of our groups and society.
Thank you to everyone that helped set up and tear down there were a lot of moving parts and every bit really did help.
I am going to highlight the load out crew because it was extra challenging with all the rain we have been having and I don’t know what we would have done without you. (Note: this is for Wiesenfeuer load out since I was there)
At the Missile sheds Ian, Florie, and Isaac unloaded the sheds through the muddy and squishy conditions right after it rained (We have 2 missile sheds filled to the brim). At the Baronial shed Aurora and Muirenn ingen Chernaig also came to join us. Thank you everyone for your help.
Unfortunately that didn’t go easier as we had wanted it to and we ended up getting vehicles and a trailer stuck in the backyard. Vosh came out to help get people unstuck, but his truck got stuck and then Ian's truck got stuck trying to help pull everyone out of the mud.
The hero of the evening was Morgan Gullett, who is a great friend, was able to get the two trucks out of the mud so everyone could at least go home that evening.
The next day Raulff Smeithberde and Vosh were able to get the final vehicle and the trailer (that was full of equipment for the VMA) out of the mud.
Thank you all for your hard work in this extraordinary circumstance.
An extra thank you to Vosh for playing Mr. Delivery and making several trips to get all the equipment that we needed for the ranges there.
Special thank you to Philippa Benintendi di Palermo for helping me set up the website, making the art and making it flow so well.
A shout out to Matteo for running the original VMA and being the inspiration to having this event again. Your crazy idea is now a reoccurring event.
This is not even close to covering everyone that helped with this event. Feel free to comment under my post to recognize people that helped with this event no matter how big or small.
Órlaith inghean Uí hUallacháin, Principality Missile Marshal
Vindheim Missile Academy II has been a goal and project of mine for quite some time and I am so proud and grateful that it was successful. It was an absolute beast, but we did it! *apologies in advance if I have forgotten any names, it is not intentional.*
TL;DR I didn't do this alone and every person involved was so important and is so appreciated.
We authorized folks in a variety of things, so many of our friends joined us on the ranges and fields and learned! They learned 101 skills, they learned advanced skills, many Royal Rounds scores were collected. Many classes were taught, on ranges and off! There were so many moving parts to keeping the activities running smoothly and keeping our friends having fun, and I absolutely could not have done it on my own!
My autocrats Eadwyn, Emma, & Isabella were a dream team!! Each of these wonderful women, (currently landed Baronesses of Vindheim might I add) while juggling all of their many other duties came together to help me plan this crazy event. We had so many different things to organize and they knocked it out of the park. We even had to reschedule due to Oklahoma's crazy weather, and they took it in stride and keep the fire burning long enough to get us to the finish line. Eadwyn, Emma and Isabella, I can not say thank enough times, or with pretty enough words to properly express my gratitude. I could not have done any of this without you three!
This was a large marshal academy. With that comes many marshal duties and I am so proud that my missile community stepped up to the plate and helped me create a team so we could accomplish the goals of teaching and fun. I can't be in more than one place at a time, so my MIC team was vital to the success of this event.
HE Isaac Bane ran our beautiful archery range with ease! He helped me tremendously by curating the content of the archery range at this wild event and making sure it was marshaled all weekend. He set the range almost entirely by himself during set-up like the super hero he is; I will applaud him all my days. Vosh, Mistress Kaitlyn, and Arc d'Or Josep assisted marshaling the archery line as well, keeping scores for royal rounds and the seasonal shoot as well as lending their experience and knowledge to each archer that took the line when they needed it. Vosh, Kaitlyn and Josep, you all have my immense gratitude for tending to our archery community and pitching in to support the missile academy.
Our thrown weapons range was no less ambitious, with many lanes, many activities and classes, and many royal rounds being thrown. Ian Thornhill stood on the range the entire weekend, making sure our throwers were safe and the range stayed open. The man is a legend, and I owe him greatly. As we always find him in his natural habitat, John York spent his hours as well, guiding throwers new and experienced alike, hosting activities and teaching us to throw at his ridiculous moving targets. Count Romanius taught several classes, ran the sling range, and marshaled as is his habit and I am grateful he is always on the range with us. Toriana Thornhilland Ian marshaled our youth, which is no small feat with the energy they bring. The kids seemed to have a wonderful time, and I thank you both again for that! Her Grace Ebigardis von Zell deserves thanks as well for popping in to marshal so we could reopen lanes while a class was happening. You all make the range better with your presence, and added to the success of VMA.
Mistress Caterina Giovanni ensured we had siege at this academy with the expertise and support of Colleen O'Kelly and Orlando Giovanni. They provided the engines, the ammo and the education that built our siege track. They taught us how to build engines and teams, how to use the engines, and overall hosted a fun space to learn. Our siege team deserves a round of applause for running a successful track with a smaller team!
We hosted an authorizations range, where we held a class for Target Archery Marshal hopefuls taught by our own amazing Queen, Her Majesty Margherita de Mantua and a class for Thrown Weapons Marshal hopefuls taught by our Golden Staff Herald, Ryan Savage. I thank you both for growing our missile community!!
We even ran a field of Rapier combat with the specific hope of sparking a flame for missile on the rapier field with archery, and thrown weapons. Master Facon du Pray oversaw our rapier field with Karl Thorgeirsson who provided weapons and marshaled along with Redulf von Kol. I heard our friends are excited about combat archery!
Last but certainly not least, even our Chiv friends got to play and learn. Kajira Camber taught a Newcomer class, Kyrus Logisson aka Rabbit taught equipment inspections, Vincenti da Murano and Rabbit ran an IKCAC, Centurion [[Raulff Smeithberde] ran the chiv melees. Our armored combat and armored combat archery leaders taught our fighters how better to work with archers in a melee unit. I thank each of you sincerely for your effort, education and support!
Aubrey Ericsdatter gets a hearty thank you for running gate! It is an integral part of having events, and we should all strive to help support it.
Megan Flower del Wall gets many thanks for being on standby as our Marshallate Secretary in case anyone needed assistance with authorizations and/or AMP.
Thank you x100 to Soledad for running waterbearing!! Especially during our summer months it is a vital role!!
Supersize thanks to Mistress Marguerite Dinard for being our off-field class coordinator, as well as running the Premier Vindheim A&S champion competition. You had your hands full with us and your offices duties and you made it all look so easy!
Hail MOG! For your lending of Mooneschadowe canvas to shade our ranges!
Our tavern, who I am unfortunately not Facebook friends with, it was delicious. And our white scarves for the breakfast bake sale. Throw in the food trucks and y'all kept us fed! We are ever grateful!
Thank you to our Coronet for trusting us with your Arts & Sciences competition!
And of course, deep thank yous to our Crown for your choice in us as your stage for your Royal Hunter competition.
I am positive I have forgotten someone, or several someones. This event was massive and there were many many hands that made it happen. My heart is full, I am so proud of my missile community (including the folks that drove up from across the red river) and my Principality for coming together and creating an unforgettable weekend. I love you all and you can't do anything about it.
