Persona History:

Jessimond is an Englishwoman living between 1339 - 1399.
After discovering all things Chaucerian during high school, and later discovering that I am a direct descendant of John of Gaunt, I am naturally drawn to this place and time.

Interests:

• Heraldic art - Especially Heraldic Achievements
  
• Various and sundry arts of croft and cottage - basket weaving, cordage making, crafting needles and pins from thorns
  
  • Housewifery - Sewing, cookery, cheese making, and smoking meats
    
  • Herbalism - Gardening (all aspects), apothecary, lotions and ointments, soap making, teas/tisanes, dye stuffs, etc.
    
  • Animal Husbandry - Herder of goats, mules, and chickens
    
  • Foraging in field, forest, and hedgerow!
    
  • Woodwork - Specifically spoon making and other common items. My preferred method is to use hand tools (many I make myself) and shave horses (collaboratively made with my husband)
    
• Calendars - I simply love everything about them, most especially Julian Calendars in all their exciting forms!

• Creator, Editor, and Contributor to A (Not-Quite-Period) Cookbook – Specialty fundraiser publication for the Barony of Seleone, Meridies. [1]
• Contributor to the Heraldicart project, providing artwork for Heralds and Scribes
• Founding member of the Ansteorran Herbalism and Apothecary Guild
• Created (and continues to create art for) the Rosenfeld Roll - A digital Roll of Arms for current members of the Shire of Rosenfeld as well as In-memorial arms.
• Gleann Abhann Royalty Emblazon Project – At the request of Queen Danielle de la Roche III, I created twenty digital emblazons that were converted into machine embroidery patches for the GA Cloak of State. (Completed in February 2021)
• Contributor to the Shire of Shadowlands Complete Roll project by Honorable Lord Paedric OMullan including the creation of an updated Heraldic Achievement of Arms for the Shire. (Completed in December 2022) [2]
• Commended by the Board of Directors of the SCA in July 2024 for her work with the Farm, Field and Forestry guild.

Non-Armigerous Awards and Recognitions:

• Citizen of Seleone - This order is given to those gentles who reside outside of Baronial Lands of Seleone (Gleann Abhann) who have rendered great service and dedication to the Barony of Seleone. It is an honorary bestowal of particular dignity but does not affect their residency status or allow them to vote in Barony-only polling. For those who have received this award and live within the Barony, it is recognized that they will in perpetuity be considered citizens of Seleone, despite changes in residency or activity (or sanity).
