This weekend, a dream I've carried since I was a little girl finally came true: I was made a White Scarf of Ansteorra.
I've spoken the oath countless times—quietly, hopefully, only to myself. This was just the first time it was accepted by Her Majesty. Standing there, speaking it aloud was a reminder of how long I've held these ideals close, how deeply they shaped me long before a red scarf was placed on my shoulder.
To me, this path has never been about the accolade. It's been about becoming a better version of myself, finding the soldier, scholar, and courtier within me and doing the work to bring her to the surface. Being recognized means I have a greater responsibility to lift others, to strive harder, and to embody the words I've been carrying in my heart for years.
Thank you to everyone who has taught, challenged, inspired, and believed in me along the way. There are too many to list them all, but I want to give a special thanks to my father for teaching me what it means to be a courtier, my Doña for her guidance, and the ones closest to me who have been the steel I have sharpened my steel against. I’m humbled, grateful, and ready to continue this journey with purpose.
