A Summary of Court at Seawinds 40th Year

by Golden Staff Herald Maitre Etienne De Saint Amaranth (With apologies for the delay, work has delayed this missive until now.)

It was sunny and warm in southern Ansteorra on the Feast of Saint Demetrios of Thessaloniki, October 26, also called the Holy Great-Martyr Demetrios the Myroblyte by the Eastern Church. Martyred by spears during the persecutions of the Emperor Galerius. He came to be revered as one of the most important Orthodox military saints and was credited with miracles after his death which defended Thessaloniki from invaders.

This same care for homeland led Their Stellar Majesties, Jean-Paul and Gilyan, to travel south and the Crown was overjoyed to celebrate the 40th anniversary of their Shire of Seawinds. The day was glorious, the populace hospitable beyond measure, the competitions stiff and memorable and the food a challenge to chefs across the Knowne World.

Their Majesties opened court in the morning and took time early to recognize newcomers and Sable Shields. It was then announced that throughout the day, when they sat in state, they would be happy to receive private fealty oaths but they would also call for groups as part of evening court for those who wished to offer fealty in court.

In the evening, prior to feast, formal court resumed. This reporting herald was quite happy to meet and be assisted through court by the herald of Seawinds, Elizabeth Clarke of Sheffield.

In addition to more newcomers, another Sable Shield, and fealty oaths, the following awards were given.

And, Andrewe Bawldwyn was awarded a Sable Comet for service to Seawinds.

Court then paused as the assembled were sworn to secrecy and everyone dispersed for feast.

At feast, Carrick Fionn was pulled from the kitchens and serving and was recognized with a Sable Thistle for Culinary Arts.

Pics of many charters are attached below (Posted to Facebook, Kingdom of Ansteorra Group), credit to artists noted in comments. The Crown was out (prior to court) of Sable Sparrow charters and the populace is encouraged to look for words from the Sable Scroll on charters especially needed by the kingdom. A few awards decided on-site will have charters made and delivered another day.
