Greetings, Vindheim!

As We write this missive, we are packing for the great war of Pennsic. A great time was had by all at Eldern's Another Day in the Park. We are looking forward to seeing everyone at other events in the Principality and in the Kingdom.
We encourage everyone to come to Academia Della Spada and witness the choosing of the next Rapier Champion of Vindheim. Bonwicke's War of Legends is August 30 and should be a great time for all.
Please have safe travels and be sure to drink plenty of water.

We apologize for the lateness of this missive, but it has taken us a bit to figure out this Facebook thingy LOL!!
We want to thank the Barony of Eldern Hills for the excellent event last weekend. Another Day in the Park had wonderful weather, great company, excellent fighting, talented bardic and A&S!
The fact that they hosted this merriment as a FREE event for all, as well as fed everyone, was icing on the cake!
Thank you again, Eldern HIlls, for your generosity to the Principality and Kingdom, and for throwing an awesome event! VIVAT!

Good morning, Vindheim!
We know many of you would love to go to Pennsic, but just can't make it this year. So we thought: If Vindheim can't go to Pennsic, we'd bring Pennsic to Vindheim :D
It is Our intent to share Our travels, experiences, tribulations and of course shopping with Our beloved Principality. Hopefully we can post every day: photos and short videos of happenings with the folk of Vindheim that day. So join us for a week at Pennsic!
Let's start off with our first day on the road. We are loaded and ready to go. We have a truck of Princesses and a Prince. Her Highness Gilyan is at the wheel so what can go wrong?

Good Thursday morning, Vindheim!
Things are a little slow today. There is the Woods Battle, but because of all of the rain, I believe most of our fighters are opting to stay safe and not participate. People are starting to break down because we are expecting a lot more rain tomorrow. Hopefully we can get some footage of court from last night. Lots of fun was had, a little bit of shenanigans, and we have the Vindheim Greywater Navy now, lol!

Good Friday morning!
All the Princesses and Princes are ready to travel home after an event full of fun and rain. We are a little worse for wear, but had a great time!
The site is pretty soggy and merchants row closes today at 5:00, so we just decided to get on the road. Hope everybody is having a great Friday morning and have a safe weekend!

Unto the glorious kingdom of Ansteorra does TSH's Vindheim send cheerful greetings!
Vindheim invites all throughout the land to the Academia della Spada this weekend. There will be classes for all rapier/C&T enthusiasts, from history of the white scarves to stabbing of fresh meat with blades (who can resist that much fun)! Can you say rapier spear?
If that doesn’t tempt you, HSH Octavia welcomes all dashing Rapier and C&T fighters to clash blades in fast and furious tournaments that morning. While all fighters are welcome to test the meddle of potential champions, only those who reside in the principality can claim the title. Come make sure that fighter is worthy and up to the task! Fighters must sign up for the list and sign up sends Wednesday, Aug 14@ midnight, so don’t shilly-shally around, sign up now!
We wish safe travels as you venture north to celebrate this exciting event with us!

We hope everyone is enjoying the cooler weather. This weekend, we will be traveling deep south into our fair Ansteorra to attend Kingdom A&S.

Our Kingdom's artisans are sure to dazzle with their talent and expertise. You will be able to look upon some of the best work in the Known World. It is truly worth the drive!

It will be wonderful to see our Vindheim populace there, supporting our Artisans - both of the Kingdom and Our beloved Principality.

Unto the fair Principality of Vindheim does Her Serene Highness Octavia send warmest greetings!

25 years ago, I hosted the first Ansteorra Princess' Tea. The main purpose of this gathering was to allow non-White Scarf / Cadets to have close access to a Royal. As the White Scarves had their Queen, now the Cadets had their Princess. This Tea promoted a deeper communication, camaraderie and purpose. It allowed the Princess a way to understand the rapier community. When the Principality was made, it seemed only right to continue this lovely and useful meeting between the Principality Princess and her rapier enthusiasts.

The Principality is now at the state where we need to start evolving our own traditions to carry us forward. It should be a blend of the solid traditions of our Kingdom and the new ideals from our Principality. I have given this extensive thought and sought advice from many. I have decided to change the Tea to better meet the needs of Vindheim.

To this end, the Tea shall be hosted by me, the Princess, and not by the rapier community. This is how it was in the beginning; the Princess celebrating with the cadets. It was Her gift to them. I want to go back to this and take the burden off the community. It will be my gift to them, a way to allow them to get to know me. Next, I will invite ALL the rapier community in the Principality to attend. We are still a small group and need to bond further, instead of increasing the distance between the non-scarf/non-mod and the Dons and MODs. This tea will allow all to share views, hopes and visions for the Principality.

The Tea is now scheduled to be held at Samhain, hosted by the Barony of Eldern Hills, October 25th, 2024. I hope to see all of Vindheim's rapier community there! Specific time to come when we have the schedule pinned down.

Greetings, People of Vindheim
The time is nearing for another Coronet List to be held to decide the next Heirs of Vindheim.
These are the weapons that will be used in the list:

• Round 1: Sword and shield
• Round 2: 6ft spear
• Round 3: Great sword
• Round 4: 7 1/2 foot glaive
• Round 5: Dane Axe
• Round 6: 6ft glaive
• Round 7: Bastard Sword

The tournament will be a Swiss 7, single fight, all double kills will be re-fought. Top 8 or 4 will be chosen for finals.
Final Rounds will be:

• Dane Axe
• Great Sword
• 7 1/2 ft Glaive

Hone your skills and prepare the weapons and armor to be ready for this next great choosing of the Prince & Princess of Vindheim.

November 2024 Whispers on the Wind

Greetings, Vindheim:
Cool weather is finally upon us. We hope everyone is enjoying it and planning for the wonderful events that these months bring.
Coronet list is now open for sign up. Each participant will need to submit a Letter of Intent, proof of membership for themselves and their consort, and fighter authorization cards. The style of fighting was in last month's Whispers on the Wind as well as the Vindheim Facebook group.
War of the Rams is the 3rd weekend of November. We hope to field a large contingency of Vindheim fighters! Please join us as it is a great event to attend. Lots of Merchants, fighting, and classes! Something for everyone!
