Katalina is a minor Spanish noblewoman living in the city of Salamanca, Spain. She was born in 1476 and has watched the changes in both her home country and the world at large with great interest. Thanks to the University of Salamanca allowing women and Jews to attend classes (on specific days), she is well-educated enough to tend to the family's sheep raising estates while her husband is off serving the King. She's particularly fond of her townhouse inside the city walls because it doesn't smell like sheep.
