This multi year event often times included a War College, Arts & Sciences display, auction, classes, and feast. Traditionally, the hosting group provided the event steward and financial controls. In other years, the War College was split off to it's own individual event, and the first such was organized by Johann Gunnbjornson and Thorvald Eiggelson, with the support of the Crown at the time, Mahdi and Valeria, who also encouraged other regions to organize a Warlord event.
Timeline
1994
Hosted by Wiesenfeuer. Each group in the north contributes an event staff member or coordinator. Don Juan Wang of the Wastelands serves as the one responsible for organizing Rapier Combat. The event is held to show "the solidarity of the Northern Region behind the Crown and Kingdom of Ansteorra for having weathered the western winds. Seems there was much discussion of the phone/travel bill incurred on our behalf at the time" in the words of Baroness Ceridwen Tir Gwastraff. Event Steward was Baroness Gitana de Castile (Northern Regional Treasurer at the time). This was originally intended to be a one-time event, however ongoing enthusiasm caused it to continue. It includes a small tournament, single elimination. Members of Gnomen Vale are a huge help in the kitchen during the Northern Regional Collegium and War College.
1995
Hosted by Wiesenfeuer. Possible date for the first War College to be held, done "as a favor to a King who asked a somewhat overworked Regional Marshal to run one." - per Baroness Katriona.
1996:
Hosted by Wiesenfeuer. Possible date for first official Northern Warlord event.
1997
Feb 28 - Mar 2. Northern Regional Tribute to Ansteorra and Kingdom War College. Hosted by Wiesenfeuer. Camp Cimarron (Coyle, OK). Coordinating Autocrat Master Lucais du Belier. At the request of the Royal Piers, Sir Barn Silveraxe coordinated the War College to prepare for Gulf War.
1998:
Feb 20-22. Northern Regional Tribute - Hosted by Wiesenfeuer. Event Steward may have been Baroness Gitana de Castile
1999:
Feb 19-21. Northern Regional Tribute - Hosted by Wiesenfeuer. (Listed on the Unofficial Calendar, probably didn't happen, see below) April 2-4. Northern Regional Warlord - Hosted by Northkeep. Warlord is Talen.
(Timeline uncertain: Wiesenfeuer requests its perpetual calendar dates, including the one for Northern Regional Tribute. In April, the Baronage changes to Barn and Katriona. In July, it is noticed that Northern Regional Tribute is on the calendar, but not on the requested date. Upon inquiry, the Baronetcy is informed that "NRT was now being handled as a true "regional" event. At the request of the Crown and Kingdom Seneschal, the Regional Seneschal set the date and would be soliciting for groups to sponsor the event. Again, this was well before our barony had even voted on whether or not to host the event we created and sponsored for 6 years. " - Per Baroness Katriona. Source. The Barony polls whether to host the event that year, and the polling results are No. The Crown calls for a Regional meeting of the Northern Landed Barons and Baronesses at Steppes Artisan. (Instead of hosting NRT that year, Wiesenfuer hosts a War College and the first Mead Bee War) Additional details provided by Baroness Kat in a Aug 28, 2000 post.
2000:
Tribute Hosted by Eldern Hills, Event Steward is Artorius ap Caradoc. The feast steward is Lady Kelandra Carmichael, who shares the menu. Mistress Anastacia hosts a session of "St. Thompson's College" which is set up for members of the Peerage to teach and make themselves available to the populace. Emphasis is on demonstrations and hands-on classes. Post event, Baron Artorius announces that $3,850.00 was raised for the Kingdom.
August 4-6. Northern Regional Warlord - Hosted by Northkeep. The event stewards are Kelandra Carmichael and Faolan. The tournament champions are: "Archery, HE Barn Silveraxe of Wiesenfeuer (Carrying on a fine Baronial tradition) Thrown Weapons, HE Burke Kyriell Mac Donald (No one is more surprised then him) Bard, HL Giovanni de Cellini (Super Bard) Artisan, Lady Gwenhyver verch Morgant (I'm sure I butchered it... sorry) Rapier, Lord Yoshi Hokkumori (returning for a second year) Chivalric, Lord Wiggen Jonsson (the littlest Jonsson)", per the Northern Regional Seneschal, Baroness Sigen. At this time, the Northern Regional Tribute and Warlord are also providing warranting classes for officers.
December 2000 - Ulf, Baron of Namron, posts to the Northern Region list that Namron will not able the host for Northern Regional Tribute. On December 31st, it is announced by the Northern Regional Seneschal that Northkeep will host the event, and the Kingdom Seneschal also weighs in and Baron Ulf posts a rebuttal.
