Our friends, we are so honored to be addressing you at this exciting moment. The Coronet tournament and our first court as your Prince and Princess were thrilling and memorable. To those who have supported, guided and taught us over the years, you have our gratitude! To those of you who worked so hard to make this event Lady Lyra and her team, your efforts are exemplary, you too have our gratitude! To the Crowns of Ansteorra, King Creppin and Queen Cristyana, we thank you for your presence and guidance. To our predecessors, Viscount Micauley and Viscountess Caterina, from who we have inherited a thriving Principality of many good works, we will forever be indebted. To the Falcon heirs of Calontir, Prince Xerxes and Prince Andromir, who journeyed far to renew the bonds of friendship and foster old alliances, know that we are deeply honored. Likewise our southern kindred who braved the journey to witness the day, you have our thanks. And lastly, to the populace of Vindheim, we have sworn to do our utmost for you and here do swear it again. We mean to make the most of our time serving you. You have our gratitude. Please give us in return your ideas, guidance and support. We hope to make our reign as successful, joyful and memorable as possible, and for that we need YOU. We ask that you please do not hesitate to reach out to us, through our Officers, with any thoughts you have for the betterment of Vindhiem. Greetings to Vindheim and all those that hear these words,
Winter has arrived in the wind-whipped plains of Vindheim, yet it is forecasted that this is only the beginning. Please stoke your fires to keep your hearth warm, and use care when traveling. While the roads are fine today, the future may hold differently. Warmer weather will soon be here, and the calls of war are just over the horizon.
Sable Solider this weekend is currently scheduled to occur, but there will be a final determinization by noon on Thursday. If you are planning to attend, please listen for announcements in regard to potential cancellation.

Our Friends, Sable Soldier has been canceled due to serious weather concerns. To those who worked so hard to organize and plan this event, thank you. While we had been looking forward to this day of learning and violent fellowship, we absolutely understand the safety concerns and agree with the decision that has been made. May your weekend been safe, warm, and happy, and we will see you at Winter Kingdom.

This past weekend at Northkeep’s Winterkingdom, We were treated with attention and kindness, well-wishes and warm food. Knowledge was gained, fights were fought, and fellowship was had. None of these could have happened without a team of hard-working people at all levels.
Site, classes, food, court, a tournament; it all came together to make a magical day.

While We endeavor to see all that is going on in Our Principality, We know that is not possible.
We know that there are many movers and shakers in Our lands, but there are also those that work behind the scenes, holding offices, working quietly, donating of their time and art, teaching, and so much more.
Please keep all these people in mind and think of what awards they might not yet hold, but that they should.

This past weekend, We traveled to Calontir to attend their historic Coronation of Xerxes and Andromire, the 82nd Crown of Calontir, and the First Rex and Roi.
We witnessed the elevations of Calontir’s premier members of the Order of the Mark, and We were witness to other elevations, and many more announcements.
Our pilgrimage to their land left Our hearts full of love, Our stomachs full of food (seriously, so much food), and Our eyes turned towards the future.
This coming weekend will be Winer Mar Maneuvers in Vatavia, Calontir. This event will be full of fighting and marshal classes. Those who are able to attend will find their cup of blam overflowing. Join Us in attending in preparation for Gulf Wars.
Gulf Wars is coming. In but a few short weeks (3), We will make Our way to the lands of Gleann Abhann to fight and defend Our lands. We will fight side by side with our friends, and then We will revel with Our enemies at night.
We are looking forward to seeing all those that can join us, and we are entrusting those that must stay home to keep the fires burning in our absence.
We hope to see you soon and wish safe travels to all.

Last weekend, We traveled to Calontir for Winter War Maneuvers with many of our Vindhomies and Ansteorran friends.
Drills were drilled, footwork was worked, pick-ups were picked-up, arrows flew, bridges crossed, and so much more.
Vindheim and Calontir re-affirmed the treaty between these two mighty groups, so Gulf War will see the Sanguine Stallion and the Falcon together again. As they support us at Gulf War, please put Lillies War on your Calendar, so we can return the favor and support Calontir.
We thank you to all that traveled and participated in the amazing time that was had.
Many may have heard, but one of Mooneschadows own, Tycho Leksten, was in a fatal accident on his way to site. Tycho had been in the SCA for over 13 years, receiving his AOA in 2013. While almost all of his awards (Ansteorran and Vindheim) revolved around his love of fighting, his kindness towards all is what will always be remembered. His quiet demeanor could have been easy to overlook, but his laugh and smile kept him from falling into the scenery. He was kind and gentle and a hard worker, and our lives are lesser for losing him. Our game is one that includes much travel, please, travel safely wherever you go.

Cadmus and Adena, Sanguine Prince and Princess invite you to a short discussion of the What's, Where's and How's of Gulf War.
This is geared towards those that have never been to Gulf War before, or who haven't been in a long time and are having anxious thoughts about what to see and do while there.
This is schedule for Tuesday, Feb 24th at 7:30 pm.
While all are welcome to attend, we hope to focus our attention and time on those who have questions and or need help for their first Gulf.

For all those going to Gulf Wars, this is a reminder that Vindheim Court will be at the Ansteorra Tent and Gates on Thursday at 4:30. This will be a short, 30 minute court so Ansteorran Royal Court can be held in the same location at 6!
Also, for everyone who is traveling over the next few weeks, for SCA or personal travel, please be safe and aware of your surroundings.
You getting to your destination safely is more important than you arriving at a specific time.
Be aware of your surroundings. Trailer and car thefts are a thing that have happened, so have your trailer lock on, your keys with you, and even park where you can visibly see your vehicle. Take your irreplaceable items in with you for overnights!
We look forward to seeing any and all who are making the trek to Gulf this year. For those that are unable to attend, please keep the home fires burning and await our return.

Busy buzzing of bountiful bees fills the air as we march. Our army stretches far and wide full of many in our ranks.
Crafting, capable, captivating, creators are the artisans, whose art is forever shared across our world.
Sturdy, steadfast, strong-willed, skilled are the warriors who fight with honor and truth as their names are etched on your blade.
Vibrant, valiant, vigilant, venust are the hands that carry, support, and share the weight of many tasks across the lands.
We all come together - ubiquitous, unique, united. We are the unwavering armies of the protectors of the stallion thrones.

--These words were spoken by our Sanguine Trumpet Jael at the opening of Our Court at Gulf Wars.
Our words for those who supported us at Gulf Wars, pale in comparison to the deeds that were done upon the field, the hours of time that were given selflessly, or the art that was shared freely.
Our eyes witnessed the hard labors of ravine and field battles, and the trudging up and down the sides to resurrection point. We saw the deadly accuracy on the thrown weapon and archery fields, targets struck and points earned. Countless hours were worked: at troll, on carts, in bathrooms, with youth, on the field, volunteer point… too many to count – though they will try.
We know that it takes a Principality to go to Gulf. Your efforts might have been more in the support of your camp, enabling others to fight, work, and learn in their own way. And we know that many stayed home, for many reasons. We hope that all who want to attend Gulf in the future are able to, and that they are able to witness these actions themselves.
Thank you to all. Gulf Wars could not happen without everyone, and Our time would not have been as amazing without the help of you all.
Her Highness will be at Elfsea Defender in a few weeks, and We will both be at the Norman Medieval Fair after that (April 10-12). We hope to see you at other events coming up soon as the spring event season starts to ramp up.

April brings the start of better temperatures, weather (beautiful or blustery, time will tell), and EVENT SEASON!
April in Vindheim brings Wiesenfeuer's Baronial and Namron's Beltane. Right on the heels is May, which holds Marata's Trade Days.
There will be friends, there will be fun and there will be recognition for deeds worthy of such. Please remember to look around and see who might need to be recognized. Who is deserving? who is doing the work that need to be done? Who is teaching? Who is creating? Who is exerting prowess and dedication on the fields? Our eyes only see so much, and we ask that your eyes help us to see.

While the format for the upcoming coronet is not yet ready to be published, the wise would be well served to focus their training on the following styles: Single Sword, Sword and Buckler, two swords, 6' spear, pole weapons, 2 handed axe and two handed sword. Wiesenfeuer Baronial was, as always, an excellent event. We would like to congratulate their Excellencies and the event Stewards and thank them for their work and hospitality. The previous champions all did fine jobs organizing their respective competitions. Congratulations are also in order for all the new champions! We saw so many working vigorously and happily to make the event a success. Further we DEMAND the recipe for the doughnuts be published forthwith. We look forward to seeing all of you at Beltane very soon.
