Marata

This is the page for the Riding of Marata located in Enid, Oklahoma. This is the only Riding in Ansteorra, as of the group's elevation to this status in 2023. Marata is supported by the Province of Mooneschadowe in Principality of Vindheim in the Kingdom of Ansteorra.

Founding

• October 13, 2021: The Incipient Riding of Marata entered the official 'observation period' towards becoming an official group.
  
• October 07, 2023: The Riding of Marata is recognized as an official group.
  

Name and Heraldry

The name Marata was one of those offered up for the Principality of Vindheim. Marata was one of the names given to the general area of the central Midwest found on a map from 1492.

The heraldry, Quarterly sable and gules, a windmill within a laurel wreath, a bordure Or, was designed by Zubeydah Al-Badawiyyah, based on elements taken from past groups in the area and the (then) Incipient Principality of Vindheim.
