Zubeydah Jamilla al-Badawiyyah 10/14/2011	If you are of the North, you probably know Sir Balvin. If you are a fighter, you probably have bone bruises with his name on them. For years, he gave unceasingly of his time and his expertise, gladly mentoring those who are new, but in such a way as to ever be encouraging, and never a bully. He is a gentleman, and a model of courtesy and integrity. His very zen-like wisdom and acceptance of others is qualities I admire and respect. His ability to forgive and to see the best in others is unmatched. Sir Balvin Thorfinnson is all that a Knight of the Society should be. I hosted an online photo gallery for several years. The picture with the most 'favorite!' votes was one of Balvin stretching out, prior to combat. It was very popular with the ladies. On a less salacious note, Balvin was one of the first individuals in Northkeep who welcomed my lord and I to the SCA. At our first event, though we had only just met, he invited us to join him at the camp of Sigen and Thorgrim. It was the start of a very long friendship.

Well you can talk about this Earl or Duke But if they can hit Balvin its just a fluke. With lightning speed and cat like graces Without even moving he will hit you in two places. He reads Musashi just for kicks Stand against Balvin and take your licks. With sword and shield you might have a chance Right until he says " Lets Dance ". With great sword don't even bother He will hit you so hard it will make you HOLLER. And if he brings his bastard sword to play You will be SORE as HELL the very next day. He always fight with such glee Hits so HARD it makes you PEE. No matter the style that he chooses Fight Sir Balvin you will have BRUISES. So if you see Balvin on the field Your best bet is just to YIELD. Sir Balvin is the Terror of the North. Whoops Obi-Wan using the FORCE.
