Initially I was given the advice to wait to choose my name and persona until I knew what type of garb I wanted to wear. I found this painting of a lovely late period German dress that I thought would be my 'dream' garb, so I decided to create a German persona based on that garb. I didn't want a "thick" German sounding name, so I searched until I found Ayla on a list of 15th C German women's names. Suffice it to say, my name and my garb, and my weaving activities have never meshed on a historical timeline but the anachronism part of the SCA is one of the wonderful parts of this game we play. | |||
