Persona History:

Alhdryð was born in 10th century Jorvik to a Saxon father and a Danish mother. Her byname, given by her father, means "strength of a man."

Saionji no Yasue, a noblewoman from Kyoto, discovered a strange young woman in the woods during a pilgrimage in what is now the Tōhoku region. On a whim Yasue decided to bring her home and dress her in fine clothes and her brother's armor. One night soon thereafter, she awoke to discover an assassin had entered her rooms—only to meet his end on the blade of a naginata wielded by her new friend, Kobayashi no Hotaru.
