Persona History:

Clauß hails from the imperial free city of Nurenberg at the start of the 16th century. Due to unfortunate but probably foreseeable circumstances of his own making he found himself joining the Landsknecht as a doppelsöldner seeking glory and to clear his name. While in service of the empire He would take part in the battle of Pavia and possibly made a visit to Rome in 1527.

October 27, 2026: Upon Candidacy for the Order of the Chivalry

This past weekend at Northkeep 30th I was invited to join the order of chivalry by their Royal Majesties.

There are no words to express how humbling, and slightly terrifying, it is to hear your name called alongside two of the fighters that you looked to for inspiration on your path. I am honored to have been called with them.

The Path we walk as students is complex, winding, and tests every aspect of you as you walk. This path creates your story, but it is not a path you walk alone nor is it a story that you write alone. I will do my best, between the happy tears, to share but some memories of those that helped write the story of this knight-elect.

I would first tell of the brightness along his path. In the form of the comforting and inspiring glow of fireflies flitting beside him from the beginning to the end as a friend blazes her own way into the history books.

I would tell of the mischievous laughter of a knight making sure that while the path should be taken seriously it shouldn't be so serious that he forgets to enjoy the walk.

I would tell of the smell of spaghetti floating on the breeze and the hospitality of strangers who would soon become friends and chosen family.

I would tell of the deafening noise of boisterous centurions and the endearing brotherhood that inspired him to step far outside of his comfort zone to join their ranks and the confidence that their support brought on.

I would tell of the artists who create works of art that inspired him to be as period and unapologetically Landsknecht as possible, despite how often this made their fingers bleed. I would tell of the quiet acts of service. A bottle of water squirted through his bar grill. A snack provided between rounds. A last minute armor repair session because mild steel doesn't like rainy tournaments. And all the quiet work of the service minded that enabled him to keep going.

I would tell of a pavilion offered, and even when he didn't think he was welcome in that pavilion he was informed strongly that he was expected to join them under it as he belonged.

I would tell of the uncomfortable times and those that comforted him through them no matter how painful the conversation may have been because they knew something that he could not.

I would tell of the rattle of knights' chains as they celebrate when he finally manages to land the shot that they have been showing him for weeks.

I would tell of the bruises, physical reminders of the lessons learned and the opportunities to improve.

I would tell of a nearby kingdom, high in the mountains, filled with kind and caring people ready to open their arms and homes to a stranger from a foreign land as if he were a friend already. People who inspired this foreign fighter to keep stepping forward and reminding him why he started down the path when he needed it most.

And finally I would tell of Ansteorra, a proud kingdom of strong history, tradition, and renown. A kingdom filled with too many impactful people to ever list them all but each and everyone of them has left their mark on him and has his gratitude and love.

This journey has been hard and it has been tiring. But because of you all it is even more enjoyable and rewarding. My path is not over, it simply takes me into a different role, and I would love to share a moment with each of you to reminisce and to prepare for this next step.

I am working with Their Royal Majesties to finalize the location and time of my vigil and will update when it is set in stone.

HL Alhdryð Ceorlstrang will be my coordinator please coordinate with her if you would like to help or be involved.
