In August of 1986, a friend invited me to a "revel" for her birthday. At the time, I had no idea what the SCA was. She told me to wear "something medieval," so I showed up in my pink prom dress. I was fascinated by all the garb and the fanciness of it all! I wandered around and spoke to a few folks that I don’t remember now. Master Artorius, who was only Lord Artorius at that time, walked up and asked me what I thought about it all. My response was "Where do I sign up??" He was the second person that I ever met in the SCA. He has watched me become who I am today and has been a major influence in my staying with the SCA.
