The Award of the Sable Thistle of Ansteorra is an award created to recognize persons who have shown outstanding work in any field of the arts and sciences.


It is an AoA level award.
The Sable Thistle of Ansteorra is an [[AoA Level]] award given in the Kingdom of [[Ansteorra]] for outstanding work in any field of the arts and sciences.


A person may receive multiple thistles in many different areas, but hopefully, should not receive multiple thistles for the same craft.

There shall exist in Ansteorra an award unto which shall be given by the Crown unto people
who have shown outstanding work in any field of the arts and sciences.


The award ranks just below the holders of the [[King's Gauntlet of Ansteorra]] and [[Queen's Glove of Ansteorra]] and before the multitude of baronial orders. It has equal precedence with the Awards of the [[Sable Crane of Ansteorra]], and [[Sable Talon of Ansteorra]].
The Award may be given to an individual more than once, but only once for a particular field.


The badge is ''(Fieldless) A blue thistle sable, slipped and leaved Or''.
Holders of the Award shall be entitled to be styled and announced in procession
 
as “Holder of the Sable Thistle for [field of art or science].”
