Mooneschadowe

This is the page for the Province of Mooneschadowe located in Stillwater, Oklahoma. This is the only province in Ansteorra as of 2009.
- In September 1978, William Blackfox attended a wargaming convention at OSU and introduced a number of students to the SCA. By April of 1979, the Incipient Shire of Mona Sceaduw was formed. *By September 1979, we were formally recognized as a Shire.
- In January 1981, the name Mona Sceaduw and the device, Sable, in pale a sun eclipsed argent and a laurel wreath, a chief Or, were registered with the College of Heralds.
- In June 1984, our group name was officially changed to Mooneschadowe. We tried to register the "bullethole" badge but it failed.
- In May 1988 the Mooneschadowe Militia was formed, and Alexandros Dietrich von Einhornwald was the first Captain.
- In November 1988 we tried a different concept on the bulltehole badge - failure again.
- In July 1991, we registered a device change to: Sable, a sun argent, eclipsed sable, and on a chief Or, a laurel wreath sable. At the same time we registered our first badge: (Fieldless) A lion-dragon statant contourny Or.
- In April 1995, submitted petition to be raised to Baronial status -- was returned at Kingdom. That same month we tried a third time for a bullethole badge -- epic failure.
- In January 1996, we registered our 2nd badge: (Fieldless) A peacock in its pride proper.
- And in March 1996 the Liondragon Guard went to Gulf Wars as a fighting unit for the first time. *And then that September the Militia was formally disbanded & and the LDG formed with Talen von Marienburg as the first Captain.
- In March 1997, Mooneschadowe & Northkeep become the premier holders of the King's Battle Ribbon (created by HRM Mahadi I).
