Persona History:
Marie is living in Portugal near the Serra of the Estrela from about 1490-1555.
- Marie is the daughter of minor nobility in eastern Portugal. She has seen the expulsion of the Moors and Hebrews and the discovery of the new world. He husband is a wealthy merchant who is involved with the Portuguese trade with Japan. Through her husband’s contacts and adventures, Marie has developed an appreciation and desire to learn Japanese culture.

Timeline of Activity:
1985 -joined group in Okinawa Japan. This group was a Shire, Canton and finally the Stronghold of Battle Rock, Palatine Barony of the Far West, Kingdom of the West. My husband and I were founding members of this group. We were stewards for numerous events, served in many local offices and eventually served as Baron and Baroness for the Barony. I was a heavy fighter and champion of several local tournaments. My husband I a traveled to several events on the main island near Tokyo and once to an event on the island of Hokkaido.
Recently joined Hellsgate Stronghold 2019. I learned illumination and began painting scrolls for Hellsgate, Bryn Gwlad, and Ansteorra. Arts & Science Minister, steward Yule 2024, Scribal Guild leader presently.

In Okinawa I was a heavy fighter, often served as autocrat, feast steward and in many offices and was often recognized for my service. In Ansteorra I am most honored to have received a Sable Thistle and Sable Crane mainly for illumination. In Texas I have become a maker of scrolls- parchment, calligraphy and illumination. I also teach Ikebana, Japanese flower arrangement, dye fabric, sew, embroidery, and construct subtleties.
