Golden Bridle of Ansteorra

The Golden Bridle of Ansteorra is a nonarmigerous level award given in the Kingdom of Ansteorra for skill in the equestrian field.

Overview

There shall exist in Ansteorra an award unto which shall be given by the Sovereign unto such persons who have

  • striven greatly to further their skill level and capabilities on the equestrian field;
  • have given of themselves to the furthering of equestrian arts; and
  • shall be exemplars of courtly graces, manners, and chivalry.

Holders of the Award shall be entitled to be styled and announced in procession as “Holder of the Golden Bridle of Ansteorra.”

Holders of the Award shall be entitled to wear a cord braided Or, argent, and vert tied to a metal ring worn on the belt, or as appropriate to the recipient's persona.

Precedence

The Award shall be nonarmigerous and carry no rank or precedence beyond any other Ansteorran award or honor.

Gladwen of Ayelsford provides: "The Order of the Golden Bridle was started by Richard and myself at the Gulf War and given to two co-premier members because we couldn't think of equestrian without thinking of them both at the same time. " (Alexis la Bouche and [[Henri le Hibou du Bois])

Insignia/Blazon

A cord braided Or, argent, and vert tied to a metal ring worn on the belt.

Gladwen of Ayelsford provides: "The colors of the braid were from my personal arms and the original two braids were actually four colors and included black as well as white, gold and green."
