Copyright statement for Version 9
The previous copyright statement pretty much covers it. Play fair with me, and I'll play fair with you. Don't steal. I don't care if you are in another country. Taking things off of the Internet and using them without so much as a citation of where you got it is stealing. Virtually everyone who's wanted to use my material (especially for educational purposes) has been allowed to. ASK FOR PERMISSION

Copyright statement for Version 8
Ok, I feel the need to mention this, since it obviously isn't clearly stated anywhere else. If you want to link to this site, that's great. If you want to link to specific images, or to copy and alter image formats (say into transparent Gifs) that's fine with me too. However, do us both a favor and put a note SOMEPLACE that says where you got it FROM. Failure to do so is theft. Honest and truly it is, and while I may not be able to do diddly to you right now, but people will take a look at it, and MOST of the people you are going to be trying to reach with pictures of Medieval Shoes are going to say "Gee that looks an awful lot like something from Marc's Page, since there is nothing saying that they got it from there, they must have stolen it, and think we're too stupid to notice. What a l'user...". Eventually, when the Internet Copyright Gestapo gets their act together, I'll be certain to report you and get your rear shipped off to some CyberAuschwitz for sleazebags, deadbeats, and no-account vermiculi.

(To be fair, while I've noticed my drawings appear in a variety of places, in almost ever case the person involved has played fair with me and at least written down where it was from. The others, and they know who they are, probably just forgot to take care of it, and may want to ... NOW).
