Persona History:

I am a sailor, the son of a minor English diplomat and a Irish merchant's daughter from the islands off the far south-western tip of Ireland, near the modern town of Doolin. Born around Christmastime, in the Year of Our Lord 1576, I was raised by my mother, until the age of 12, when I began to travel with my father, acting as assistant, scribe, and eventually junior diplomat. The life of diplomacy not particularly to my tastes, I ran away to sea, as a deckhand, and eventually able bodied seaman, aboard a series of independent merchant vessels. It is during this time that I took up metalworking, as a diversion.
