In September 2013, Mistress Amata Amati d'Arezzo, OL, started her Atelier, a workshop where her apprentices, students and interested friends gather to learn about arts and sciences in the Society for Creative Anachronism (SCA), principally in the Kingdom of Ansteorra. The group continues to meet on a monthly basis; learning, teaching, practicing, demonstrating, sharing and growing as artisans.

Motto: Fac Art Usquam (Make Art Anyway)

Sep 2013 First meeting of Atelier – Documentation and Research class, researching on the internet

Oct 2013 Making introductions, elevator speeches, and demo speeches

Nov 2013 Exhibition practices as they related to SCA Demos and Displays

Dec 2013 A&S resumes and "brag books. Preparing and Teaching a Class. Trello and “Shading with Gouache” class.

Jan 2014 Feedback on documentation and displays for upcoming A&S events (Candlemas or Kingdom A&S). Judging using judging forms. Discussed documentation versus research papers.

Feb 2014 Presentation/debrief of the doublet tailoring workshop.

Mar 2014 Gulf War debrief. GW A&S feedback for Laurels.

Apr 2014 Tailoring class. Brainstorming newcomer class ideas.

May 2014 KC Class previews.

Jun 2014 KC Class Previews. Discussion of upcoming A&S opportunities, current projects, etc.

July 2014 KC Class Previews. AHSS Class Previews.

Aug 2014 Set up of LPT displays and acting as "Laurels" for one another so as to work on our speeches about our art.

YEAR 2:

Sep 2014 Debriefed LPT and came up with feedback for the event organizers. Reviewed our activities from last year and came up with ideas for future meetings. Everyone shared their goals and ways to help each other with various activities/guilds, etc.

Oct 2014 Reviewed Handbook for Artisans of Ansteorra, Ansteorran Arts and Sciences website and a brief overview of the steps in doing an A&S project (research, make, document, display). Also discussed shadow judging.

Nov 2014 Research and documentation class, discussed displays and used the kingdom judging sheet to judge an item.

Dec 2014 Creating an Internet presence - sites and services, and how to make them interact with each other to create a cohesive online presence.

Jan 2015 Candlemas Prep - setting up A&S entries for the group to give feedback on (reading the documentation, judging, etc.) and previewing classes any of us are teaching at Candlemas.

Feb 2015 Preliminary stab at putting together info for artisans about being/working to become a Laurel. Bring the questions you wish had answers on the Ansteorra website.

Mar 2015 "Running an A&S Competition" and "Being a Class Track Coordinator" classes. "How to Teach at King's College"
