My grandfather fought with William the Bastard. My father had land, so we had Saxon cotters who worked the land for us. I learned herbalism from my Grannie, and from my Mother. My mother had strange ideas about washing hands and bathing regularly - but then, her patients never died... I wandered a lot, perhaps due to having told the Lord Mayor that if he had called me before allowing the barber to bloodlet his wife, she might have survived.

Cairenn of Dun Cu Ruadh came to my home and went through my closet: "You can wear this... and this.. and this.. and this..." And that was my first outfit. She used to say that while Susan showed up at the start of the event, Suzanne walked out at the end of the day. I was hooked before I showed up - she had been telling me SCA stories at our MENSA meetings. I have LOTS of Cairenn stories.
