	In the summer of 1990, I moved to the Rio Grande Valley and helped form the Shire of La March Sauvage and was their founding Seneschal. The people were amazing, and we would travel to events together. We were able to make every gathering an event with meaning and fun. There were a handful of rapier fighters that trained and traveled together, and I was able to take the field at different fighter practices and in many tournaments. [MoAS, Seneschal, Rapier Marshal, ~~Hospitalier.]~~ I was the only rapier fighter at first, but it was so much closer to travel to other practices. I went to Stargate's practices every week and headed to events almost every weekend. It was during my time in Isle of the Golden Phoenix that Master [[Etienne de Montagu]] took me as his cadet. I started playing in 3/17/1990; my first event was a Queen's Champion in Steppes. I fell in love with rapier fighting because a gentle sat and played chess with me by the list field. As we played, he pointed out what was happening on the field. I don't know his name, but I was never so glad to lose at chess before or since.

The Baronies of Stargate and Loch Soilleir are so close that I lived in one and taught in the other. I moved to Loch in 2005 to save on the commute to and from work.
 
In May 2020, I retired from teaching and moved to the Shire of Rosenfeld. Good times are ahead.
