			====Gulf Wars 30: When Hearts Sang====
			Friday night at Gulf Wars 2022. My two boys safely away at a hotel offsite. [[Kyna Terricsdottir\|Kyna]] and I get to have a night without worrying. I grab scotch, 2 cigars and hunks of cheddar cheese and move over to Namron's main pavilion where some folks are gathered to chat and laugh about the week and other weeks like it. It is good to be around folk this way again. Plus I get to sit near [[Donnchadh Beag mac Griogair], a good friend and true.<BR><BR>
			We talk and laugh and finally someone asks for a song. Donnchadh obliges and the bardic begins. He asks to sing "Fields of Glory" with me and I, in turn, request "River" from him. My heart swells with joy and memories of bardic past. It is so good to be doing this again, especially with him. We were back at Gulf Wars and it felt right.<BR><BR>
			Not sure if it was a request, but Donnchadh started singing "Just One Time" and many of us joined in; the emotion of the story captured us. As the tune got to the final verse Donnchadh falted; maybe the first time I have ever seen it. He was too caught up in the emotion and was choked up. He looked to me to forge on but I was crying. The whole circle stopped. The emotion of being back after years away tied with the song itself just got to all of us and for a few moments there was silence. It was powerful.<BR><BR>
			Donnchadh recovered and we finished the song and more after that. It was a wonderful way to end that week. I will not soon forget the night Donnchadh and I started and then broke a bardic circle.<BR><BR>

Thanks also to Yancy and Fru [[Kolfinna Egilsdottir\|Kolfinna]] for the tenets of chivalry wood plaques. They added awesome decoration to the vigil tent.
