Snorri is from the southwestern coast of Iceland, about 20 miles due west of the Althing, in the late 970s ce. He, his wife Gróa, and their thralls tend a small farmstead where they raise cattle and sheep, grow vegetables, and do a fair spot of fishing whenever possible. He also travels to the mainland on occasion where he is the skald to his noble uncle Ivarr's court. In Ansteorra, he has found his niche as a herald, a skald, and a servant of the Kingdom he calls his second home.
